Even though I have just started my first year in both a high school drawing and painting class, I have been drawing in my visual journals and sketch pads for as long as I can remember. I favor black and white or gray scale sketches rather than color. However, if I do use color it is often a vibrant focus point within a gray scale drawing. I often use more organic forms in my works. I have become quite fond of my illustration technique where swirl-like shapes compound into an image. I rely primarily on acrylics, water colors, colored pencils, pastels and charcoals. This is also my first year in a graphics class. I was so taken with the Adobe Illustrator software that I went home and spent more time on the software. I was fortunate enough to have the software at home and so I constantly submerse myself within the program and improve my skills. I am also developing both my sketching and painting skills as often as I can.
